Lest We Forget is one of Ed’s most moving sculptures—an expression of sorrow, resilience, and spiritual yearning. The figure, eyes lifted to the heavens, bears the emotional weight of bondage, silently asking why such pain was his to carry. His form rises from the earth, forged by trauma, but grounded in faith and dignity. And yet, despite the pain, African Americans endured, overcame, and rose with resilience, creativity, and pride.

This work honors the resilience and contributions of Black Americans, serving as a sacred reminder: through our harrowing journey, our legacy is undeniable—and we must never forget.
