Commissioned by the University in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Founding of Virginia Union. The 16’ long bronze sculpture is composed of 6 panels depicting the history of the institution from its origin in Lumpkins Jail to the present union of seminaries and colleges that form the University. Also featured is a granite central sculpture of contemporary design honoring the Board of Directors.
