South Carolina African American History

Commissioned to create a major Black History Memorial depicting the visual history of African American involvement in the rich and controversial history of South Carolina. The sculpture tribute is of bronze and granite with a 23’ high obelisk and two arched granite walls that contain 12 bronze panels depicting the complete history of African American contributions to South Carolina from 1600 to the present. It depicts from Auction Blocks to Emancipation to Reconstruction, etc. The sculpture is installed on the State Capital Grounds in Columbia.
